Mairangi Arts Centre is calling for entries from artists working in all media for the prestigious Hibiscus & Bays Art Awards.
This annual awards exhibition, sponsored & proudly supported by Auckland Council’s Hibiscus & Bays Local Board, celebrates artistic and creative
practices in New Zealand.
Exhibitors will be selected by a panel of respected arts
professionals.Their work will be on display in the 10th Hibiscus &
Bays Arts Awards from 24 February – 24 March 2024.

Prizes:
- 3 x Outstanding Artists Awards each receive $1000 monetary prize plus the opportunity to exhibit at Mairangi Arts Centre together in 2025.
- 1 x Māori Art Award: $500 cash prize sponsored by Te Herenga Waka o Orewa plus the opportunity to exhibit at Mairangi Arts Centre with the finalists in 2025. This inclusive award is open to any artist in any medium who reflects, through their artwork, a sense of place, narrative and belonging to Aotearoa/Tamaki Makaurau.
- 1 x Two Dimensional Merit Award: $250 Factor Frames voucher
- 1 x Three Dimensional Merit Award: $200 CCG voucher
- Open 2D/ 3D Merit Award: $250 Gordon Harris voucher
- Under 21 Young Artist Award: $200 Prezzy card from Claire Cassin Ray White Mairangi Bay
- Peoples’ Choice Award: Annual subscription to Art News Magazine

It’s been a long four years since the last exhibition (due to COVID lockdowns) and we are very excited to see the beautifully vibrant works by our local youth talent.
