Welcome to Mairangi Arts Centre

Mairangi Arts Centre is a vibrant, community based visual arts education facility and exhibition venue.

We are open Monday- Friday 9:30am – 4:00pm and 10AM – 2PM on Saturdays (Closed Sundays & during New Zealand holidays)

Our mission is to engage and empower our diverse communities through the arts. We provide an extensive art programme for children, teens and adults in a range of mediums.

We host exhibitions open to the public and have a dedicated space for our own members to showcase their latest creations.

Our membership options for adults and youth artists are best suited for those that wish to regularly participate in classes and workshops. We host special membership events, provide discounted classes and have opportunities for members to be active at the community centre.

Mairangi Arts Centre is proud to present the 12th Hibiscus & Bays Art Awards!n annual exhibition that celebrates the diversity and depth of creative practice across New Zealand. Sponsored and proudly supported by Auckland Council’s Hibiscus & Bays Local Board, this prestigious event brings together a curated selection of artists working across all media. On view from the 23rd May - 13 June.

We are pleased to have our Judges this year: Natanahira Pona & Paul Slater who will be selecting our Finalists & Merit Prize Award Winners. Works will be on public display from 23 May to 13 June 2026. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to engage with high-caliber contemporary art and experience the talent of both established and emerging New Zealand artists.

We invite you to visit the gallery, explore the collection, and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. Many works will be available for purchase, providing a chance to support the local arts community directly.

We are proudly supported by Hibiscus and Bays Local Board, Foundation North, and our sponsors Gordon Harris, Factory Frames, Te Herenga Waka O Orewa & Kiwi Underglazes.
