Ken's disciplines are architecture, industrial design and painting. Born in England, Ken studied Architecture at Liverpool John Moore University and Sheffield University, and Art at Liverpool College of Art. Elected a member of the Chartered Society of Industrial Designers (UK), in 1969. Ken emigrated to New Zealand 1993. Paintings in oils, acrylics, watercolours, ink, pencil and pastels, Ken's works are held in private collections in England, Dubai, France, Ireland, Italy, America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Architectural projects working in UK, USA, UAE, France and NZ include almost every known building type. Winner of several international architecture awards.
Art awards include the prestigious Ray Hannam Award, and the Windsor and Newton Professional Water Colour 1st prize at the Royal Easter Show in 2004 together with the Society’s Medal for the most awards ( 8 ) in the 2004 Show, 1st prize in Abstract Art in 2011, 1st prize in the Art Awards 2012 for Themed Painting and numerous other awards between. Invited by the International Selection Committee of the Florence Bienniale International Art Exhibition to represent NZ in the 2009 and 2011 exhibitions in Florence.
Formerly elected the President of the Auckland Watercolour Society in 2015.
