I have been interested in art since I was very young, following my passion through school, onto Art School and finally to University where I chose to specialise in Jewellery Design and Manufacturing. (BA Hons) I currently sell my jewellery in various gallery's locally. As well as making jewellery I am also passionate about Abstract painting and printmaking, and regularly exhibit locally and further a field. I have been teaching for over 10 years both in jewellery and art. I find it incredibly rewarding as well as inspiring and I enjoy the challenge of coming up with new ideas and meeting the needs of each individual. I have tutored a range of classes from preschool children, through to intermediate, as well as adults and adults with special needs.
These classes have included painting, printmaking and jewellery as well as a variety of other techniques and processes such as mixed media, screen printing, clay, paper making, paper craft, and 3 dimensional forms. For me personally, art is not just about being able to draw and paint well, but about self expression. It is the expression of our inner thoughts and feelings, both conscious and subconscious. When given the opportunity to be expressive we tune into our inner creativity, making us more centered and aware of ourselves which in turn creates self esteem and confidence. I truly believe that art benefits all of society.
