Dasul Lee is an Auckland-based artist who has a cross cultural background.She holds Bachelors of Visual Arts and gained her Masters in Fine Arts in 2015 from Auckland University. She has been involved in a number of group shows in New Zealand and was selected as a finalist for MMCA Art Awards(2016) and Small Sculpture Prize(2019)
While developing her practice as an artist, she has worked at Auckland Museum for over one and half years being involved in delivering and assisting classes for children as well as exposing herself to great inspirations.
In her practice, she uses a variety of methods from traditional mediums such as paint, as well as everyday objects and sculpted materials to construct works that challenge perceptions and ideas. Her fascination with ‘everyday sculpture’ stems from her time as a freelance graphic designer, and her natural affinity for observation and interpretation.
