Dasul Lee is an Auckland-based artist who has a cross cultural background.
She holds a Bachelor of Visual Art from The University of Auckland and gained her Masters in Fine Arts in 2015 from Elam School of Fine Arts. She has been involved in a number of group shows in New Zealand and was selected as a finalist for MMCA Art Awards(2016). While developing her practice as an artist, she has been working at Auckland Museum since 2016 involved in delivering and assisting learning programs and classes for children, as well as exposing herself to great inspirations.
In her practice, she uses a variety of methods from traditional mediums such as paint, as well as everyday objects and sculpted materials to construct works that challenge perceptions and ideas. Her fascination with ‘everyday sculpture’ stems from her time as a freelance graphic designer, and her natural affinity for observation and interpretation.
