Alternative Pottery Learning Space

As part of our Making Friends project potter Jack Tilson and friends will be installing a gas-fired kiln and foot-powered pottery wheel in a Mairangi Bay garage, turning it into a alternative space for learning pottery, together.

This free programme involves various ceramics activities - from learning about installing and operating a gas-fired kiln, to processing and working with locally sourced clays (like the clay you can find on the collapsing cliffs of Mairangi Bay), throwing on a foot powered wheel, and firing.. etc...

All ages, abilities, skill levels (zero experience to expert) and 'types' very welcome!

Please contact Chris Berthelsen 022-0854-866 / if you would like to join in and/or have skills/experience you would like to offer

(This free programme is part of our Making Friends and Delicious Landscape projects)
