If you are keen to develop proficiency in watercolour, this is the class that delivers results. Many of Brian’s pupils gain professional status - you could be one of them! This class is not suitable for beginners - you may like to send an example of your work to the office to make sure this class is suitable for you.
This course will guide those from beginners to advanced with drawing skills through various techniques in drawing the human form. Essential foundations will be covered as well as tips toward understanding the human form through line, tonal values and proportions. Each class will have a focus that will be followed by life drawing directly from a live model. The model’s fee is included within the class fee.
During this weekend workshop, students will learn fundamental watercolour techniques through step-by-step demonstrations, and how these techniques can be synthesised to inform the colour, structure, composition, and most importantly, the concept of a painting. We will also analyse live subject matter to understand the key ideas artists look for to capture in painting,
Learn the basics of sketching indoors and outdoors over a range of subjects using pen, watercolour pencils and watercolour in your own personal sketch journal. During this day course you will develop your own personal sketch style, connect with your subject and capture energy and diversity in spontaneous sketches.
You don’t need to be an accomplished artist to do this course, just the enthusiasm to do something new. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone who wishes to get back to the rudiments of sketching.
